Rain Raises Hope In Drought Stricken Area

MARREE, AUSTRALIA – JUNE 09: Rain falls over the desert plains on the Birdsville Track June 9, 2005 near Marree, Australia. Rain over the central South Australian region has brought hope to hundreds of farmers who have been suffering from the longest drought in 100 years. Approximately 5mm of rain fell in the Marree area, but at least an inch is needed to ease the drought conditions. ()
