Carbon County’s Panther Valley School District is tabling a $4 million solar power initiative – for now. The Times News has more:

The sun set Thursday on a $4 million plan to install solar cells at the Panther Valley High School campus. But the proposal may rise again: All seven school directors attending the public meeting voted to table the matter “indefinitely.”
The board vetoed a proposal to approve payment of $5,000 to Reading Electric Renewables, LLC, for the completion of the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Solar Energy Program grant application, contingent upon the board’s review of the application before submission.

The school had been pushing for a $1 million state grant, to help fund the effort.
