Drill rig in Susquehanna County Pennsylvania

Montana has become the latest state to pass a fracking disclosure law. Last month StateImpactPA outlined how Pennsylvania stacks up against four other states that regulate fracking chemicals. Wyoming, Arkansas, Texas, Michigan and Pennsylvania all require drillers to report their fracking recipes for each well.
Montana’s new law also requires disclosure, and like Pennsylvania, it leaves it up to the drillers to decide if any of the chemicals are “trade secrets.”
