Have You Tried To Track Down Fracking Chemical Information?
-

Earlier today, StateImpact reported on how Pennsylvania lags behind four other states, when it comes to the public availability of information about fracking chemicals used at each well.
Pennsylvania is one of five states requiring companies to disclose what chemicals they’re using during natural gas drilling. Arkansas, Wyoming, Michigan and (soon) Texas all post this information on the Internet. But in Pennsylvania, it’s stashed away in a regional Department of Environmental Protection file. You need to file a Right-To-Know request to see the data.
Have you ever filed a request to see the information? What was the process like? We want to hear about your experience. Send an email to sdetrow@stateimpact.org, and we’ll be in touch.
