THE WEEK AHEAD:

Any Minute Now | SCOTUS Health Care Ruling: A decision is expected this week and could come as early as today. If the court upholds the constitutionality of the federally required state insurance exchanges, things could get interesting. This year, Oklahoma’s GOP pulled a Senate Bill that laid the groundwork for creating such exchanges. The federal deadline is Jan. 1, 2014, but the feds will be checking on states’ progress in 2013. An Oklahoman editorial called the GOP’s move “a gamble.”

Tuesday | Statewide Primary Election: Dozens of candidates will face off in congressional, legislative and county races throughout the state. The only statewide contest is the Republican race for corporation commissioner, reports NewsOK. A lot of eyes will be tuned to the match-up in the 2nd Congressional District Primary, which heated up when Democratic Rep. Dan Boren said he wouldn’t seek a fifth term.

Friday | AA Contract Deadline: A New York bankruptcy judge will decide this week if American Airlines’ parent company can void its labor contracts and impose $1.25 billion in labor concessions, which likely includes layoffs. The decision could impact thousands of Oklahomans who work at the airline’s maintenance base in Tulsa.
