As Pruitt’s Confirmation Vote to Lead EPA Nears, Watchdog Group Sues to See Communications With Fossil Fuel Industry

The Center for Media and Democracy on Tuesday filed an open records lawsuit against Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, accusing the Trump administration’s pick to lead the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency of failing to provide public access to emails and other documents for more than two years.

The lawsuit, filed in Oklahoma County District Court, seeks records requested from 2015 through 2017 under Oklahoma’s Open Records Act. The left-leaning Wisconsin-based nonprofit media watchdog, requested communications between the attorney general’s office, fossil fuel companies and the Republican Attorney General’s Association.

The group is also asking a judge for an injunction preventing the Oklahoma AG’s office from destroying any documents related to its records request.

The U.S. Senate is expected to vote this week whether to confirm Pruitt as administrator of the EPA, a federal agency the Oklahoma attorney general has fought with lawsuits and vowed to reform.

Pruitt has declined interview requests until the confirmation process is complete.

Can’t wait for Scott to start! God this truly a great era to be on!

    • Eric Hartman

Really. Perhaps you would like to take a refreshing dip in the swamp since the Donald has filled ot with alligators? I’d pay to watch!

      • Dr. Anxiety

You crazies have done enough damage, thank you. It’s the adults turn.

        • Eric Hartman

hahaha Adults. Right. When I was a young adult in the 70′s we actually cared about the environment. Then Raygun happened. I trust you don’t have any offspring then? Or if you do do you don’t like them very much?

          • Dr. Anxiety

Everything will be OK. Can I suggest some medication?

          • Eric Hartman

No thank you. It sound like you are already on xanax. Can I suggest you get off the medication?

  • Eric Hartman

Yet one more allegator tossed into the already polluted swamp. If Dr. Anxiety (commenter below) does decide to take a refreshing dip in the swamp, if the alligators don’t get hi, the toxic sludge will.

  • Dr. Anxiety

This is why the dems and the GOPe lost and will lose for the next 8+ years. You can’t hold a reasonable discussion.

    • Eric Hartman

Well, it’s like this. If you really think that Pruitt is qualified to hold public office when he blocked public information for two years, or if you think he is qualified to be the administrator of the EPA even after 400+ former EPA officials signed a letter with reasons why he isn’t, there is likely no way to have a “reasonable conversation” with you. Besides, referring to your first post, I always thought one was in an era, not on it. Perhaps you’d be better gloating on your alt-right alternative sites where science is of no consequence.

People will be dancing in the streets after the EPA’s carbon footprint is reduced by over 50%. Everyone should be cheering! The last two guys, especially Richard Windsor, that were heading up the EPA were underwhelming and incompetent as you know. Being against blocking information or deleting emails is racist.

        • Eric Hartman

Methinks you overestimate reactions…I will say there will be people in the street if it is eliminated, but we won’t be dancing :) Silly. There is no Richard Winsor at the EPA.

So then are you not interested in participating in the committee to plan and fund the future Trump Memorial on the National Lawn? Site scoping is underway. We have several options that will dwarf the Washington and Lincoln Memorials. We may be moving the FDR Memorial. Not sure. Haven’t had this great of a President since Lincoln freed the democrat’s slaves. And it is only the third week!!! Let me know.

        • Eric Hartman

Oh you mean the lawn where people weren’t standing for the inauguration? I’m sure it will be planned as the greatest, tallest, most wonderful monument ever and all admission funds will go directly into the trump family fund. Ummm, no thanks. I’ll pass on that committee..

          • Dr. Anxiety

We are going to have fun the next 8 years! Wait until CGI is exposed for what they really do to make the Clintons wealthy. Hang in there budsy!

          • Eric Hartman

Oh we are going to have even more fun exposing tRump and all his ethics violations. We’ll chat and see who’s the winner. I don’t think it will take us 8 years however…ciao pardner!

          • Dr. Anxiety

It may be 12. Trump is a boy scout compared to HRC. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

  • Dr. Anxiety

    Windsor. Look it up.
