The Department of Energy is expected to release a report on the impacts of natural gas exports after the election. The DOE has approved just one LNG export terminal license, while 15 applications are pending. Only a few years earlier, talk centered on building import terminals. But shale gas development and the plunging price of natural gas has shifted the focus to exports. Exporting LNG is controversial, some say exports would not benefit American consumers because it would increase the price of gas. Bill Cooper, the president of the Center for Liquefied Natural Gas, tells E&E TV that’s a misconception. Listen here.
