Amended Impact Fee Clears Senate Committee

The Senate Appropriations Committee has unanimously approved changes to SB 1100, which imposes an impact fee on Marcellus Shale wells, and strengthens state oversight of hydraulic fracturing.
In a parliamentary maneuver, lawmakers stripped the bill of all impact fee-related language. That will be re-inserted in the committee early next week, before the full Senate debates and votes on the bill.
