The folks at the Post-Gazette’s Marcellus Shale-focused website have built an interactive 360-degree panorama of an active drilling rig during three phases of production. A visit to the site will show you how the landscape changes, when a well goes from the drilling to the fracking to the pumping stage of gas extraction.
In other energy reporting news, the Innovation Trail’s Emma Jacobs is embarking on a two-week trek through Canada, to explain just how much of New York State’s energy comes from massive hydroelectric dams north of the border.
