Wind Power Coming to Lycoming County

Duke Energy announced today that it will build a new wind farm in Lycoming County. The project includes 30 turbines that will generate 69 megawatts of power, which Duke says could power 20,000 homes. The project is the second wind farm the Charlotte, NC company will operate in Pennsylvania. Duke also runs a 70-megawatt wind farm in Blair and Cambria counties. The Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation signed a deal to buy the wind energy for 25 years.
