House To Debate Impact Fee

The State House will spend the afternoon debating a new natural gas drilling impact fee, proposed by Republican Policy Chair Dave Reed.
The proposal would set an annual $50,000-per-well fee, which would gradually shrink to $10,000, over the course of the decade.
Money would go to counties and municipalities hosting drilling, the Environmental Stewardship Fund, and local conservation districts.
