Comprehensive Annual Financial Report
The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, or CAFR for those interested in brevity, is required by state law and is prepared by the Office of State Finance.
The report is issued at the end of December for the previous fiscal year. For example, the 2011 CAFR covers FY2010, which ended June 30.
The CAFR details the state’s schedule of expenditures and includes a balance sheet of revenues, assets, expenses and cash flows. The report also contains statistics on personal income, major employers, tax collections, school enrollments, and various demographic data.
The CAFR also contains the official list of agencies, boards and commissions considered the “primary government” of Oklahoma.
