Oklahoma’s Unemployment Rate Lower Than Neighboring States

The statewide unemployment rate fell to 6.0 percent in February, data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics show.
This is the lowest the state’s jobless rate has been since 5.9 percent recorded in May 2011.
Oklahoma’s unemployment rate was lower than all its neighboring states.

The lowest unemployment rate, 3.1 percent, was recorded in North Dakota. Nevada topped the list with 12.3 percent, the data show.
Forty-nine states and the District of Columbia had unemployment rate decreases compared with a year ago at the same time, while only New York saw a rate increase, reports the Tulsa World.
