Oklahoma’s gross tax receipts for December were more than 11 percent higher than the same month last year, state Treasurer Ken Miller said Wednesday, releasing monthly collection figures.

Sales taxes alone were 6.3 percent higher during the 2011 holiday shopping season than they were last year, he said.

Overall, revenues for 2011 calendar year were 9.6 percent higher than last year’s.

The Treasurer’s numbers include sales taxes collected between mid-November and mid-December. Sales taxes collected during the rest of December will be included in next month’s report.

Thanks, Santa.
