PA Doctors to Discuss the Public Health Impacts of Fracking

The Pennsylvania Medical Society will be hosting a session on how natural gas drilling impacts public health. One of the speakers will be Samuel Lesko, with the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute. The Institute is conducting a study of residents of northeast Pennsylvania, by collecting baseline health assessments in high drilling areas.

Other speakers will discuss the health risks of fracking, and the recommendations of Governor Corbett’s Marcellus Shale Advisory Commission. The event is not open to the public, but journalists can attend.
