6 stories Lancaster Against Pipelines
Lancaster Against Pipelines is a citizens group based in Lancaster County that formed in 2014 to oppose the construction of the Atlantic Sunrise natural gas transmission line.
Members of the group tout a commitment to nonviolent civil disobedience, and say they are concerned about the pipeline’s impact on water, soil, and air quality, as well as the potential for explosions.
Shortly after construction began on the Atlantic Sunrise pipeline began in late 2017, Lancaster Against Pipelines organized protests in which dozens of people have been arrested.
