Feds: Less Shale, But More Production

How’s this for mixed messages? A new report from the U.S. Energy Information Agency is reducing its estimate of natural gas in the Marcellus Shale to 141 trillion cubic feet. Last year, an EIA report put the level at more than 400 trillion cubic feet of gas.

The same report, however, anticipates domestic gas production will triple by 2035.

StateImpact Pennsylvania will take a closer look at the report and its implications for Pennsylvania’s energy economy later today.
