Chesapeake CEO Aubrey McClendon addresses last week's drilling conference

Itching for another drilling convention, after last week’s Shale Gas Insight conference in Philadelphia?
You’re in luck. This October, Pittsburgh will host the third-annual Marcellus Shale Gas Environmental Summit. The event will will “bring together leading Shale Gas producers with technical and environmental experts to address the use and management of water resources in various stages of Shale gas operations,” according to the summit’s website. Topic covered will include, “Water transportation, use, treatment, and environmental impact are critical components to shale gas extraction.”
Who’s behind the conference? Two companies that market their services to drillers: Spill containment specialist New Pig, and Select Energy Services, which provides everything from water containment units to pipeline materials, to actual drilling rigs.
