Two of the three incentives up for discussion at today’s tax credit task force meeting focus on wind energy.

Oklahoma ranked third in wind capacity in the most recent quarter, the Associated Press reports, citing an American Wind Energy Association report released Tuesday.

From the AP:

Oklahoma added 130 megawatts to rank behind Colorado and Minnesota. West Virginia is fourth in the report and Texas is fifth.

Wind development specialist Kylah McNabb at the state Department of Commerce told The Journal Record that there could be 38,000 megawatts of wind-generated energy in Oklahoma within 20 years.
