Meet Idaho State Senator Shawn Keough

Background

Shawn Keough was first elected to the Idaho Legislature in 1996. She’s a Republican representing District 1, Bonner and Boundary Counties.

Keough is a member of the Joint Finance Appropriations Committee, the panel tasked with writing Idaho’s annual budget.

Keough was born in 1959 in New Jersey. Sen. Keough attended Lewis Clark State College and North Idaho College. She’s currently the executive director of the Associated Logging Contractors.

She and her husband live near Sandpoint, Idaho, they have two children.
