The accident at a BP oil rig\u00a0took 11 lives, and the oil spill afterwards leaked over\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/rundown\/2010\/08\/new-estimate-puts-oil-leak-at-49-million-barrels.html\">two hundred million gallons of oil<\/a>.
