This photo has been edited to only depict the continental U.S.<\/p><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Seasonal drought forcast from the national weatehr service.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Today the National Weather Service offered a glimmer of hope to Texans bracing for another hot and dry summer.<\/p>\n<p>In its three month <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/products\/expert_assessment\/seasonal_drought.html\">seasonal drought outlook <\/a>the service has moved much of Central Texas out of the area where the service is predicting &#8220;persistent drought.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Instead that portion of Texas is now bathed in glorious green on the service&#8217;s map, indicating that the region may actually see drought improvement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve never seen this on the maps in a long time,&#8221; said LCRA meteorologist Bob Rose.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->&#8220;This is a three month outlook through June, so this is very encouraging. The previous one which had been issued just two weeks ago showed us [in Central Texas] in the drought persistence stage and so this is quite a change,&#8221; said Rose.<\/p>\n<p>But the news wasn&#8217;t all good.
