Another was found on the car of a KUT News reporter, our local radio partners.<\/p>\n<p>Since we&#8217;re never ones to let a good tip go unnoticed, we did some Googling on the note. And if you follow the clues and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nws.noaa.gov\/climate\/index.php?wfo=ewx\">look up those daily climate reports<\/a> from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;ved=0CDoQFjAA&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ci.austin.tx.us%2Faustinairport%2F&amp;ei=olY1T9faC4WhsQLTp9WOAg&amp;usg=AFQjCNGCIrbbtVi5kHjRgEsUbeSaicLBeg&amp;sig2=kzJphf6dXjQcLmBoMglQQQ\">Austin-Bergstrom International Airport<\/a> (ABIA) weather station, you find that&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>There was 0.01 inches of rain recorded there in September, a big departure from normal. On each of the days listed on the note, there was no rain recorded. On average, ABIA gets about two-and-a-half inches of rain during that month. So to correct our tipster: <a href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/texas\/topic\/drought\/\">the drought<\/a> was in no way &#8220;neutralized&#8221; in September, though recent rains have allowed much of \u00a0Travis County to <a href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/texas\/2012\/02\/09\/mark-your-calendars-for-la-ninas-farewell-party\/\">move from &#8220;exceptional&#8221; and &#8220;extreme&#8221; to &#8220;severe&#8221; drought\u00a0<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday evening on the way home from work, the above note was found on the windshield of one of our cars.
