The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.luminant.com\/plants\/pdf\/MartinLake_Facts.pdf\">Luminant Martin Lake<\/a>\u00a0power plant, which mostly\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;sqi=2&amp;ved=0CCkQFjAA&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FLignite&amp;ei=NeoNT86KCsSE2wXW8N2YBw&amp;usg=AFQjCNEdi8gPCPU2icN-kbHNyoWXHlKuFg&amp;sig2=shMlaiisONPH_TiXYyqUIQ\">burns lignite<\/a>. It released 18.7 million metric tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere last year and is the <a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/e2-wire\/e2-wire\/203613-a-look-at-the-countrys-most-polluting-power-plants#.Tw3sh8yOLYE.twitter\">fourth largest emitter<\/a> of greenhouse gases in the country.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Texas has 673 facilities reporting greenhouse gas emissions to the EPA, more than any other state. (California, in second, has 456.)<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"More...\" src=\"https:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/texas\/wp-includes\/js\/tinymce\/plugins\/wordpress\/img\/trans.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The EPA says the list is &#8220;generally&#8221; of plants and facilities that emit 25,000 metric tons or more of greenhouse gases each year, which they say is equal to burning 131 railcars&#8217; worth of coal. The data is collected from power plants, landfills, manufacturers, miners and refineries.<\/p>\n<p>Texas came in first for total emissions, with 294 million metric tons of greenhouse gases emitted in 2010. (Second place?
