Today comes news he&#8217;s going to have to do with a loaner for a little while.<\/p>\n<p>In what the <em>Associated Press<\/em> is calling a &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/fuelfix.com\/blog\/2012\/01\/05\/gm-to-call-back-8000-chevy-volts\/\">move similar to a recall<\/a>,&#8221; General Motors is going to ask owners of the plug-in vehicle to bring their cars in, so that the casing around the battery can be strengthened.<\/p>\n<p>In November, the National Highway Transportation Safety Board announced that it was<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhtsa.gov\/PR\/Volt\">\u00a0launching an investigation<\/a>\u00a0into Volt batteries that\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2011\/12\/08\/business\/general-motors-to-re-examine-volts-welded-parts.html?_r=1\">caught fire several weeks after crash tests<\/a>. GM offered to buy back the Chevy Volt cars from anyone who wished to return them.
