There are about 50 electric vehicles currently in use in the city,<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/living_green_sa\/article\/City-unveils-car-charging-stations-2398200.php\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">according to the <em>San Antonio Express-News<\/em><\/span><\/a><\/span>. The city covered the $10,000 total cost for the project through a Department of Energy grant. It takes about four hours to recharge a plug-in hybrid like the Chevy Volt.<\/p>\n<p>There are already two solar charging stations at the airport, the <em>Express<\/em> reports, bringing the number of city charging stations to eight. Austin has<a href=\"http:\/\/kutnews.org\/post\/austin-energy-installs-dozens-electric-vehicle-charging-stations\" target=\"_blank\"> the most stations thus far<\/a>, and has about 150 electric\u00a0vehicles\u00a0currently in use, according to Austin Energy.
