I&#8217;ve got no particular problem raising the system wide offer cap, or eliminating the cap or adjusting the cap on peak or net margin,&#8221; said PUC commissioner Kenneth Anderson at the\u00a0commission&#8217;s\u00a0meeting Thursday in Austin.<\/p>\n<p>The PUC has been <a href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/texas\/2011\/12\/01\/will-the-lights-stay-on-in-texas\/\">concerned over recent forecasts<\/a> that the power grid would be <a href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/texas\/2011\/12\/02\/power-plant-shutdowns-delays-could-mean-more-blackouts-next-year\/\">struggling to keep up with demand<\/a> if this coming summer is as hot as 2011. The current price cap is $3000 per megawatt hour for the wholesale electricity market. The PUC has discussed raising the cap, but eliminating it?<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s a pretty big opening,&#8221; said PUC spokesperson Terry Hadley.
