Meter Reading: New Nebraska Route Proposed for Keystone XL, Wastewater as Fuel, and More

New Route Through Nebraska Proposed for Keystone XL Pipeline ”The company planning the disputed Keystone XL oil pipeline has proposed a new route through Nebraska that avoids the state’s environmentally sensitive Sandhills region,” the Associated Press reports.

Wastewater as Fuel ”Among the many renewable energy sources — wind, solar, hydroelectric, biofuels — there is one to which we all contribute that has not yet managed to attract the romantic advocates who have embraced other forms of green energy,” says a piece in the San Antonio Express-News. “We’re speaking about the gray river of warmth flowing right beneath our feet: sewage.”

Class Action Settlement Over BP Spill Near ”A final settlement between BP and thousands of individual plaintiffs over the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill is edging closer, as the parties filed a joint proposed class-action agreement designed to resolve economic and medical claims against the company by Gulf Coast residents,” the Houston Chronicle reports.
