Mary Fallin told a crowd at the Tulsa Convention Center Ballroom.<\/p><p>One factor is tax revenues from oil and gas, <a href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/oklahoma\/2012\/06\/05\/oklahoma-treasurer-oil-and-gas-revenues-still-sliding\/\">which have been slipping<\/a>. &#8220;We&#8217;re monitoring oil and gas very closely,&#8221; Fallin said in her speech, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tulsaworld.com\/news\/article.aspx?subjectid=11&articleid=20120725_16_A4_CUTLIN976667&rss_lnk=1\">according to<\/a> the <em>Tulsa World<\/em>.<\/p><p>But uncertainty at the national and global level \u2014 national elections, Congress, global unrest, the Obama administration \u2014 also have a &#8220;tremendous impact&#8221; on Oklahoma&#8217;s economy, Fallin said.<\/p><p><!--more-->So what can Oklahoma do? According to Fallin: focus on business and state government functions like transportation, education and health care.<\/p><p>The <em>World<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>On several occasions, Fallin stressed the importance of a &#8220;highly skilled, educated workforce&#8221; and took some pains to defend this year&#8217;s essentially flat common education budget.
