Mary Fallin is hard at work on a plan to reduce Oklahoma\u2019s personal income tax.<\/p><p><em>Oklahoman<\/em> reporter Michael McNutt <a href=\"http:\/\/newsok.com\/oklahoma-gov.-mary-fallin-is-developing-personal-income-tax-reduction-plan\/article\/3629582?custom_click=rss&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Newsok%2FNews%2FPolitics+%28NewsOK.com+RSS+-+news+%3E%3E+politics%29&utm_content=Google+Reader\">writes<\/a> that Fallin\u2019s plan, which relies heavily on a report from a task force she assembled earlier this year, will be in place before the start of the next legislative session in February.<\/p><p>Members of the Task Force on Economic Development and Job Creation proposed a 10-year plan that reduces and ultimately eliminates Oklahoma\u2019s individual income tax, the largest single source of state tax revenue.<\/p><p>The report suggests several ways to make up for the lost revenue, like removing certain tax credits and exemptions.<\/p><p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c \u2026 including some that benefit low- and moderate-income families, such as the state child care and child tax credit, low-income property tax credit, sales tax relief credit and the state earned income credit,\u201d <em>The Oklahoman<\/em> reported.<\/p><\/blockquote><p>Other task force suggestions: Cut state government spending by $243.3 million each year for 10 years, a 4 percent tax on various services and the creation of a <a href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/oklahoma\/2011\/11\/10\/three-economists-no-income-tax-likely-means-higher-property-taxes\/\">state property tax<\/a>, <em>The Oklahoman<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
