This time he\u2019s going after the federal Clean Power Plan to cut carbon emissions at coal plants, as <em>BloombergBusiness&#8217;\u00a0<\/em><a title=\"BloombergLink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2015-07-01\/oklahoma-files-suit-challenging-epa-clean-power-plan-\" target=\"_blank\">Andrew M. Harris reports<\/a>:<!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The lawsuit comes two days after the U.S. Supreme Court\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2015-06-29\/epa-loses-at-u-s-supreme-court-on-power-plant-emissions-rule\">faulted the EPA<\/a>\u00a0for failing to consider costs and benefits before deciding to impose limits on emissions from coal-burning generators.<\/p>\n<div data-view-uid=\"1|0_5_1_5\">Oklahoma seeks a court order declaring the EPA measure exceeds its powers under the federal Clean Air Act and an injunction blocking the new regulations for coal-fired plants.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div data-view-uid=\"1|0_5_1_5\">In a statement, Pruitt calls the EPA\u2019s plan to cut carbon emissions by more than 30 percent by 2030 \u201can unlawful attempt to expand federal bureaucrats\u2019 authority over states\u2019 energy economies in order to shutter coal-fired power plants.\u201d And he says the plan would threaten the reliability and affordability of power in Oklahoma.<\/div>\n<div data-view-uid=\"1|0_5_1_5\"><\/div>\n<div data-view-uid=\"1|0_5_1_5\">This is actually the second time Pruitt has <a title=\"StateImpactLink\" href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/oklahoma\/2014\/08\/06\/oklahoma-attorney-general-scott-pruitt-sues-epa-over-federal-clean-power-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\">sued the EPA over the Clean Power Plan<\/a>, which hasn\u2019t even been finalized yet.
