{"id":17796,"date":"2013-12-30T12:12:59","date_gmt":"2013-12-30T18:12:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/oklahoma\/?p=17796"},"modified":"2013-12-30T12:12:59","modified_gmt":"2013-12-30T18:12:59","slug":"why-oklahoma-drivers-will-pay-50-cents-more-for-cng-on-jan-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/oklahoma\/2013\/12\/30\/why-oklahoma-drivers-will-pay-50-cents-more-for-cng-on-jan-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Oklahoma Drivers Will Pay 50 Cents More for CNG on Jan. 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"module image alignright mceTemp\" id=\"attachment_17812\" style=\"width: 300px;\"><a class=\"fancybox\" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/oklahoma\/files\/2013\/12\/CNGpic.jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-17812\" alt=\"CNGpic\" src=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/oklahoma\/files\/2013\/12\/CNGpic-300x199.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-media-credit\">scottjlowe \/ Flickr<\/p>\n<\/div><p>People who drive natural gas powered vehicles aren&#8217;t used to pain at the pump, but a <a title=\"AFDClink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.afdc.energy.gov\/laws\/laws\/US\/tech\/3253\" target=\"_blank\">federal tax credit<\/a> that expires at the end of 2013 will add at least 50 cents to the price of a gallon of compressed natural gas.<\/p><p>That&#8217;s a big deal for Oklahoma, which has more CNG fueling stations per capita than any other state, and a governor who <a title=\"NewsOKlink\" href=\"http:\/\/newsok.com\/oklahoma-gov.-mary-fallin-aiming-to-increase-cng-options\/article\/3621604\" target=\"_blank\">vigorously promotes<\/a> the use of Oklahoma natural gas in vehicles.<\/p><p><em>The Oklahoman<\/em>&#8216;s <a title=\"OklahomanLink\" href=\"http:\/\/newsok.com\/expiring-tax-credit-to-drive-cng-prices-higher\/article\/3918505\/?page=1\" target=\"_blank\">Jay F.
