“Stepping on the Brakes for CNG Vehicles: State Lawmakers Question Fleet Purchases”

The Oklahoma road to replacing vehicles with alternative-fueled models is paved with frugal drivers.

State Rep. Paul Wesselhoft, R-Moore, said he is in favor of replacing worn-out state vehicles with CNG-fueled vehicles. However, he said, the state should be frugal and drive some vehicles for longer. State Rep. Jeff Hickman, R-Dacoma, agreed. Switching to CNG to save money on fuel costs is a good idea, he said, but the state should study when fleet vehicles should be replaced.
