“Piedmont Vows Lawsuit Over Planned Wind Farm”

The Piedmont City Council this week voted to support a lawsuit against a developer who plans to build wind turbines near the city.

The council voted this week to support legal action against Virginia-based Apex Clean Energy Inc., which plans to build a 300-megawatt wind farm in northern Canadian County and southern Kingfisher County … Apex said it has not finalized its plan, but that up to 43 turbines could be placed within a 3-mile radius of Piedmont’s city limits … The council approved an ordinance that declared the project a public nuisance, citing health concerns and worries over decreasing property values.
