“Oil Producers Deny Secrecy About Washington Trip”

The meeting centered on “the Negotiated Rulemaking Committee’s proposed revisions to the Code of Federal Regulations that govern production on the Osage Minerals Estate. The four, plus fellow councilman Myron Red Eagle, have been vocal in their opposition to the proposed set of rules targeting oil and gas production in Osage County.”

McClain said in his blog that it was unacceptable for the four members to make the trip without consulting Chairman Andrew Yates, former chairman Galen Crum or Sonny Abbott. The three served on the Negotiated Rulemaking Committee for eight months and voted for the proposed oil and gas rules on April 2.
“They didn’t even bother to phone this one in with a phone poll,” McClain wrote. “They just quietly slipped out of town.
