Schools Would Not Get Additional Money to Transport Students Under Kasich Budget

State funding for school transportation — school buses and other services — has not kept pace with inflation. And Ohio Gov. John Kasich’s proposed new school funding plan does not increase funding for school transportation.

Kasich’s budget also provides schools no additional money for transportation, freezing the amount at $442 million — a figure that has grown just 5.2 percent since 2004.
