Many Northeast Ohio Colleges Close During the Holiday Season

The lights are off, and practically nobody will be home at college campuses across Northeast Ohio.

As the Plain Dealer reported, many universities are choosing to shut down between Christmas and the beginning of 2014 in order to save money on utility bills– and to offer employees a bit of a break before the start of a new semester.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – If you are looking for a place for quiet reflection during the hectic holiday season, visit a college. It is likely the one time of the year when campuses, with the exception of basketball arenas, are virtual ghost towns. Faculty and students have gone home after finals and few prospective students are inquiring about admission.
