J. Daniel Good Named Interim Superintendent of the Columbus School District

Retiring Westerville Superintendent J. Daniel Good has been named interim superintendent of the Columbus school district for one year. Good told local media the one-year appointment could become permanent.

Good replaces longtime Columbus Superintendent Gene Harris, who is retiring this week.

Among the challenges facing Good are a November levy election and state and federal investigations into the Columbus data rigging scandal.

“I’ve worked in public education for many years and I can tell you there are no easy situations,” Good said. “Columbus is a city for which I’m very proud and for which I care very deeply. (This is) where I need to be at this point in my life.”
