Chronicle: Gordon Gee Still Can’t Resist a Joke

“I think probably governors like to have me come back because I get them off the front page,” joked a laughing Gordon Gee, former president of Ohio State University and newly named president of West Virginia University, in a video interview with The Chronicle of Higher Education.

A bow-tie clad Gee talked about both his new interim gig and his past at OSU.

After more than three decades as a college president at five institutions, E. Gordon Gee has become one of the most recognizable names in higher education. He is known for his quirky demeanor and common touch with students, but his personality has sometimes been his own worst enemy.
