Almost Half of Americans Haven’t Heard of The Common Core Standards, New Poll Says

If you’re a frequent StateImpact visitor, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve heard of the Common Core. But nearly half of Americans may not be in the same boat as you, according to a new poll released by the Wall Street Journal/MSN. Out of the 1,000 adults participating in the survey, 47 percent say they haven’t heard of the English and math standards that have been adopted by a majority of the country.

Sick of hearing people bicker about the political football called common core? You have lots of company. A new poll finds barely half of Americans haven’t even heard of the new standards, let alone heard about them nonstop (like we do here in Washington).
