Week Ahead: New School Funding, New Ohio State Ticket Prices

Monday: The first #ohedchat starts at 9 p.m. It’s an opportunity for Ohio educators to teach each other about the new teacher evaluation method coming to Ohio schools.

Wednesday: The state Board of Education committee to hammer out the details of Ohio’s new school report cards and accountability system holds its first meeting.

Thursday: Ohio school superintendents get their first look at Gov. John Kasich’s new, proposed school funding model.

Thursday-Friday: Ohio State University trustees meet and vote on increasing ticket prices for men’s basketball and football, among other matters, the Ohio State University Lantern reports.

Thursday: The National School Choice Week train stops in Toledo, home of Ohio’s first charter school.

Saturday: Application period opens for the Ohio school voucher programs that give students who attend low-performing schools publicly funded scholarships to attend private schools.
