The largest block of jobs funded in New Hampshire first quarterly report in 2009 were for education grants to local school districts that replaced state funds. New Hampshire used that federal money to help balance a growing budget deficit, but did not create or save any jobs with it.<\/p>\n<p>The Obama Administration soon abandoned tracking the number of jobs &#8216;created or saved,&#8217; and instead reported the number of jobs funded by the stimulus, dividing the hours paid for with federal funds by the number of hours and weeks that ARRA had been in effect. Since many of the jobs funded under the program are no longer receiving funds or no longer exist, the number of jobs funded in New Hampshire has plummeted. The New Hampshire Office of Economic Stimulus reported that 3,522 jobs were funded in the third quarter of 2009. Jantzen \/ Flickr<\/p><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Figuring out the cost-per-stimulus-created-job is tricky business<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;The website makes no mention of the cost per job, and data show far more jobs created in New Hampshire during the life of the stimulus program.<\/p>\n<p>As the three-year stimulus program started to draw to a close last year, federal checks to New Hampshire slowed.
