A developer traced to a Massachusetts P.O. Box wants to build a big facility in Concord<\/p><\/div>\n

A super-secret business that could bring a lot of jobs to Concord hopes to set up shop on Integra Drive.\u00a0 As Ben Leubsdorf of the Concord Monitor <\/em>reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“A developer is looking to build a sprawling warehouse operation on Integra Drive, off Manchester Street, that Concord officials say could employ 150 people.<\/p>\n

But the name of the company that would use the proposed 350,000-square-foot facility seems a closely guarded secret. Land records provide few clues, and both City Manager Tom Aspell and Deputy City Manager for Development Carlos Baia said last week they don’t know who it is.<\/p>\n

Even the property owner’s attorney is in the dark. Based on the size, the proposed facility is likely a distribution center, said Richard Uchida of Orr & Reno, who is representing 15 Integra Drive LLC.<\/p>\n

‘But beyond that,’ Uchida said, ‘I do not know.'”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Leubsdorf points out that if it’s built up to spec, “the facility would be a bit smaller than Associated Grocers of New England’s 380,000-square-foot distribution center that opened in Pembroke in 2006.”\u00a0 To do that, though, the company will have to get some of its land that’s zoned for office parks switched over to industrial zoning.\u00a0 Leubsdorf reports it could take months for the proposal to wend its way from the planning board and Economic Development Advisory Council to the City Council for final approval.<\/p>\n
