{"id":236,"date":"2011-07-22T17:36:24","date_gmt":"2011-07-22T21:36:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/new-hampshire\/?p=236"},"modified":"2011-07-26T19:26:26","modified_gmt":"2011-07-26T23:26:26","slug":"whats-the-future-of-cisco-in-new-hampshire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/new-hampshire\/2011\/07\/22\/whats-the-future-of-cisco-in-new-hampshire\/","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s The Future Of Cisco In New Hampshire?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following the untimely death of the Flip camera, <em>The Guardian<\/em> (by way of the Associated Press) <a title=\"Cisco to shed 6,500 staff in effort to regain computer networking supremacy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/technology\/2011\/jul\/19\/cisco-to-shed-staff\" target=\"_blank\">reports more cuts at Cisco<\/a>.\u00a0 And this time it&#8217;s not technology.\u00a0 It&#8217;s jobs.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Monday&#8217;s announcement to cut 6,500 of its 73,000 employees across the globe follows a plan disclosed in May to eliminate thousands of jobs. Two-thirds will come from redundancies and the rest through an early retirement plan.
