Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce<\/p>

Early this year, Boise business leaders turned their attention to securing and maintaining strong air service in and out of the city.<\/p>\n

To that end, the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce established a new travel committee, and made preserving and attracting air service its chief focus<\/a>.\u00a0 Flight availability, they said, is key to business recruitment and retention.<\/p>\n

Connected to that effort, Horizon Air president Glenn Johnson will be in Boise tomorrow<\/a>.\u00a0 As StateImpact<\/em> recently reported<\/a>, Johnson will discuss Horizon’s commitment to the Boise market.\u00a0 In April, the airline announced it will base some of its crews in the city<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This month, Boise Airport applied for a $1 million grant<\/a> from the U.S. Department of Transportation\u2019s Small Community Air Service Development Program.\u00a0 If it\u2019s awarded, the grant will be used to try to attract direct service from Boise to a southern or southeastern hub, and to secure intrastate service between Boise and Sun Valley, Boise Airport Deputy Director Bryant Francis says<\/a>.<\/p>\n
