&#8211; BLS<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As for layoffs, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bls.gov\/news.release\/jolts.t09.htm\" target=\"_blank\">JOLTS data shows<\/a> more than 2 million people lost their job in January.\u00a0 The largest share of those layoffs nationally were in the trade, transportation, and utilities sectors.\u00a0 The western region (which includes Idaho) reports more than 525,000 layoffs or discharges.\u00a0 (BLS classifies layoffs or discharges as involuntary separations initiated by the employer.)<\/p>\n<p>[spreadsheet key=&#8221;0AiLU6Cs5LWZIdGMwZDI0eDRobUlieGg0WWxmNWZ2TkE&#8221;
