Idaho was one of seven states whose right-to-work laws banning compulsory union membership have attracted some businesses, according to the Manhattan Institute, which is pro-free market. Real estate prices and regulations were among the other reasons Californians left for Idaho, the institute said.&#8221; &#8211; Idaho Statesman<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Between 2000 and 2010 about 54,000 Californians moved to Idaho, according to the <em>Statesman<\/em>.\u00a0 The report uses federal tax data, the same data <em>StateImpact Idaho<\/em> used to map migration <a href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/idaho\/maps\/mapping-migration-who-moves-to-idaho\/\" target=\"_blank\">in<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/idaho\/maps\/mapping-migration-where-idahoans-go\/\" target=\"_blank\">out<\/a> of Idaho.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/idaho\/maps\/mapping-migration-who-moves-to-idaho\/\" target=\"_blank\">According to our map<\/a>, 10,000 Californians moved to Idaho between 2009 and 2010.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Idaho Statesman reports Idaho is a top destination for Californians.
