Gov. Otter will decide whether Idaho will expand its Medicaid program and whether to create a state-based health insurance exchange.<\/p><\/div>\n

Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter’s workgroup to study a possible Medicaid expansion<\/a> meets tomorrow at the State Capitol.<\/p>\n

The Governor has to decide by early November whether he’ll expand Medicaid eligibility for low-income adults earning up to 138 percent of the poverty line<\/a>.\u00a0 The expansion is a key element of the federal health care reform law.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow’s meeting will include a presentation<\/a> from Leavitt Partners, a Utah-based firm Idaho hired to study its Medicaid options<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The agenda<\/a> also highlights three possible courses of action that will be discussed:\u00a0<\/p>\n

  1. No Medicaid Expansion:\u00a0 Continue Indigent\/CAT Fund Program as currently designed<\/li>\n
  2. No Medicaid Expansion: Indigent Program Redesign<\/li>\n
  3. Medicaid Expansion<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
