Richards \/ AFP\/Getty Images<\/p><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Boise&#39;s growing number of construction jobs boosted employment in the city this spring, the Brookings Institution&#39;s Mountain Monitor report says.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Early this year, as a signs of economic recovery faded into yet another spring slump, Boise for the most part held its ground.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s the main local takeaway from the Brookings Institution&#8217;s current <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brookings.edu\/research\/interactives\/metromonitor#overall\" target=\"_blank\">Metro Monitor report<\/a>, which sizes up the health of urban economies from April through June.<\/p>\n<p>Idaho&#8217;s <a title=\"Tracking Idaho\u2019s Unemployment Rate\" href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/idaho\/topic\/unemployment\/\" target=\"_blank\">unemployment rate<\/a> held steady during that period, staying just below the national average.
