Frederica Wilson, D-Miami, among others. <\/p><\/div>\n<p>More than 2,600 students, teachers and community members protested after an immigration judge decided to deport Pelaez.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Her lawyer, Nera Shefer, told the\u00a0<em>Miami Herald<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/2012\/03\/06\/2679197\/north-miami-valedictorian-wins.html\">that Daniela and her sister, Dayana, were given a deferred action for two years<\/a>, meaning federal immigration authorities will not carry out any deportation order during that time.<\/p>\n<p>Miami-Dade Superintendent Alberto Carvalho was among the crowd that protested the judge&#8217;s initial order.
